I tried different ways to do so, but just wasn’t getting there. I was thinking of giving up but Ankesh was super encouraging and pushed me to try and give it a last shot. After speaking to me a few times, he suggested I work with Prottay for a short while. I spent just 5 hours with Prottay, mainly focusing on my verbal skills. His approach was very flexible. He wanted to know what I was struggling with and worked with me on that. Within just the first session, he eliminated by fear of complex Arts & History passages. He has a solid grasp of the material and knows exactly which resources to use. He is also extremely flexible, and took classes late at night to accommodate my hectic work schedule. In just a month, I broke the 330 barrier. I scored 331 (163V and 168Q). If you are committed, willing to put in the effort, Prottay, Ankesh and Prep Zone are the dream team. They give you the flexibility, but at the same time know to focus on your weakness to improve your score. Thanks guys!

Math Olympiad competitions provide a platform for candidates with exceptional problem-solving skills to demonstrate their abilities in a non-academic yet competitive setup.

Every year, hundreds of students in Singapore participate in such competitions at primary Level. For some candidates, it is an opportunity to express their analytical skills, while for others, it is an avenue to improve their profiles and increase their chances of securing admission at a top secondary school.

FOREWORD

Primary Enrichment & DSA

With Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec) increasing in Singapore, Primary Schools candidates are going the extra mile to enhance their profiles through extra-curricular activities.

The Direct School Admission – Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise allows students to seek admission to Secondary 1 based on their talents and achievements. Since many students already participate in sports, student council, and/or performing arts, Singapore’s top secondary schools such as Raffles Institution, ACS Independent, Hwa Chong, and NUS High, start looking for unique activities that set the applicants apart.

Primary 6 students can apply for DSA-Sec based on a wide-range of talents, including*:

Sports and games
Visual, literary and performing arts
Debate and public speaking
Science, mathematics and engineering
Languages and humanities
Uniformed groups
Leadership (for example, prefects)
